They may be a little behind the times, but it appears that the executives at Facebook have finally agreed to use hashtags as a way to search for content by a specific topic. Better late than never, we say! For those of you on Twitter or Instagram, you know the benefit that hashtags provide in an already over-diluted online world. Introduced by a Twitter user in 2007, hashtags are essential for tagging the tweet or caption making it easy for others who are interested in the same topic to find it. These hashtags are searchable and clickable and will take users to a feed of real-time search results of other Facebook updates using the same hashtag. The feature was introduced to a small number of users today and should continue to roll out in the next few weeks. What do you think of the new addition?
