October 21, 2015, is the future date that Doc Brown and Marty McFly travel to in the 1989 film Back to the Future II. They jumped into Doc’s fuel cell technology powered DeLorean and gunned it to 88 mph, arriving in the present day. Interestingly enough, some of the Back to the Future predictions aren’t too far off.

According to the popular film, the Chicago Cubs win the World Series, and though they haven’t gotten that far yet, this is the first time the Cubs will be in the NLCS in 12 years. The film also predicted the use of fuel cell technology, and Toyota has since developed a variation of hydrogen fuel cell technology that is used to power its new Mirai model.

To promote the new model, the automaker has reunited Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) and Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd) as part of the “Fueled by Everything” campaign. As part of the campaign, Toyota has released two teaser videos that are leading up to the release of a 5-minute video on October 21, 2015. Toyota has also joined forces with Pepsi and Nike and we all have high hopes that they will make the future from Back to the Future a reality.
