We are very excited to tell you about one of our favorite client events that we are fortunate enough to help promote and publicize every year. The Annual A-Town Get Down is a public music and art festival promoting Arts Education, created to honor the memory of Alex Townsend, a junior at Savannah College of Art and Design who passed away on Valentine’s Day 2010. This year’s event has turned into an all-day, all ages festival, taking place Saturday, March 2 from noon to midnight at the Charles Morris Center in downtown Savannah. The headliner is Loudon Wainwright III, Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter, humorist and actor. Wainwright’s accomplished sister, Sloan Wainwright will also perform. Other acts represent an eclectic mix from Savannah’s creative community including Eric Culberson, Word of Mouth, Walter Parks and Swamp Cabbage, the Savannah Children’s Choir, Savannah Arts Eclipse band and much more. The event also features live art exhibitions including ceramics, screen printing, painting and urban art, children’s art activities and visiting artist Peat Wollaeger. We truly love being a part of this event, and we hope you’ll consider supporting it. Tickets are available online at a-towngetdown.com.
