Our client, the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport, had lots of reasons to celebrate this morning as the inaugural JetBlue flight landed in Savannah from New York. Savannah government, tourism and airport officials were traveled to New York earlier this week despite wintry conditions for a grand celebration of the partnership between the airport and its newest airline. When they arrived in Savannah this morning on JetBlue’s "Pretty In Blue" airplane, they were welcomed aptly by a crowd of media members, officials, spectators and more. Mayor Edna Jackson even handed out Savannah-made macaroons to each passenger on the inaugural flight! Our own Lisa Markowitz-Kitchens was on-hand at the airport this morning to welcome everyone and snapped some shots from the ceremony. JetBlue will offer several non-stop flights to and from Savannah at a very low rate. We are so excited for this incredible milestone both for our client and for Savannah!
