Today we want to tell you about a very special project we have been involved in recently to help Lisa’s friends, the Kromenhoek family, or the “K-Crew” as they call themselves. It’s been a whirlwind of a month for this family whose youngest member, Tess, is battling a rare, life-threatening liver disorder called Primary Hyperoxaluria that occurs when the liver doesn’t produce an enzyme that is necessary in preventing the buildup of oxalate.

Tess underwent a successful liver transplant this past Friday and must wait three months for a kidney transplant. She is being treated at the Chicago Children’s Hospital where they were fortunate to find a pediatric nephrologist there who has dedicated his career to Tess’ disease and was one of the founders of The Oxalosis & Hyperoxaluria Foundation. The K-Crew’s family and friends held a garage sale this past week to help raise fund for the family. R&M designed the poster, and we are doing everything we can to help spread the word about their story.

To offset Tess’ medical bills and living expenses, as well as to help pay for plane tickets to and from Chicago, friends of the K-Crew have established a fund for Tess. Donations can be sent to “Alison Kromenhoek for the Benefit of Tess” c/o Regions Bank, Attn: Glenn Sherrill, 15 Bull St., Savannah, GA 31401.
