The gifts are great. The food is delicious. And who can ask for anything better than spending time with your family and friends? But the best part about the holidays? Christmas movies! We bet if we did a random poll of 100 people, 90+ of them could definitively tell us their favorite Christmas movie and why. Well, that’s what we did. Except we polled the office. These are our favorite Christmas movies.

Enjoy!

Ted Robertson, Bossman
My favorite Christmas movie is "How the Grinch Stole Christmas". My best friend, Scott, and I used to call each other when we saw it on to say Merry Christmas. Of course, that was when it only came on once a season on the networks. Now it comes on 100 times on cable!”

Lisa Markowitz-Kitchens, Bosslady
My favorite Christmas movie is "It’s a Wonderful Life".  The movie is a classic with a wonderful storyline…and the best part is a happy ending! I always love a happy ending!

Diane Butler, Office Manager
My favorite Christmas movie is “Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer”. It reminds me of when my daughter was little and she told me very excitedly that she heard the reindeer on the roof.

Chris Adams, Wed Developer
My favorite Christmas movie is “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation”. It’s the perfect movie that everyone can appreciate and relate to.

Chaz Cruz, Graphic Designer
Back in the late nineties (1999), there was an animated special called “Olive the Other Reindeer.” It was really clever, super-cute and one that I wished would get replayed year after year.

Laura Patty, Media Buyer
My favorite Christmas movie is “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation”.  For years my family has watched it together before we go to bed on Christmas Eve.  It’s hilarious how much that movie mirrors so many of our own family Christmases (and how Clark Griswold’s antics are eerily similar to my dad’s).  I also think that movie is the reason I’m terrified of squirrels.

Fun Fact:  For Christmas this year I got my dad a set of “Moose Mugs” like the ones Clark and Cousin Eddy use in the movie to drink eggnog.  I may have to get myself a set, too.  (see pic)

Christie Koppel, Account Specialist
My favorite Christmas movie is “The Muppet Christmas Carol”. When I was young, I was mildly obsessed with Kermit the Frog. It’s a Christmas Eve tradition with my family to sit down together and watch “The Muppet Christmas Carol”. This tradition started because my parents discovered the only thing that could make me sit still on Christmas Eve was my love for Kermie. I have the entire movie’s dialogue memorized and annoy my family by singing and reciting my favorite lines along with the movie. I mean, who wouldn’t want to yell, “Light the lamp, not the rat, light the lamp, not the rat!”

Ginny Sanderlin, Social Media Specialist
My favorite Christmas movie would have to be “Elf” with Will Ferrell. I know it’s not exactly considered a “classic” but it’s so hilarious! I’ve seen it probably 50+ times and it’s just as funny as it was the first time I watched it. Not to mention, it’s so quotable! “Smiling’s my favorite!”

So there you have it. And with that, we at Robertson & Markowitz wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! See ya in 2011!
