Savannah’s own professional per-service symphony orchestra and our client, The Savannah Philharmonic, is kicking off its 2012-2013 season with the enchanting beauty of Rachmaninoff’s most beloved concerto followed by Shostakovich’s powerful Symphony No 5. this Saturday, September 8 at the Lucas Theatre for the Arts. The concert will include Mussorgsky’s famed “Night on Bald Mountain”, Rachmaninoff’s enduringly popular “Piano Concerto No. 2” and Shostakovich’s triumphant “Symphony No. 5”. In addition, you’ll be treated to world-renowned piano soloist, Yejin Noh, who will perform Rachmaninoff’s challenging concerto, “Piano Concerto No. 2”.
