It’s no secret that Coca Cola has often been under fire for its unhealthy products. After all, a can of Coca Cola is said to have nine teaspoons of sugar in it, equal to 33 grams. We’ve seen the soft drink giant combat the obesity claims with advertising that discusses its smaller portions and reiterates that other factors are involved in leading a healthy lifestyle and moderation is key. That’s why Coca Cola’s most recent ad is extremely thoughtful and controversial at the same time. They attacked the obesity claims head-on without straying away from who they are as a brand. The nostalgia aspect was very Coke-esque and they still got their point across while tapping into our emotions and tugging at our heartstrings, something they are very good at doing.
