It appears that Facebook’s latest endeavor to take over the world involves the creation of a “want” button to add to its “like” and “subscribe” buttons. The “want” button will allow users to “add products to a virtual wish list”, according to Mashable. As with any new developments, Facebook is very tight-lipped, and the news of the new feature was discovered on accident by web developer, Tom Waddington, who stumbled across the code for it. It was originally reported that after learning this, Facebook pulled the operation completely, but according to Waddington, updates have been made, suggesting that it’s still very active. The “want” button is another step in socialcommerce. According to Waddington, “in the same way music, news and videos are shared on the site, Facebook is planning to allow users to share both Wants and Purchases, from items bought within games to donations.” You can read the full story here.
