Every once in a while working in the advertising industry really makes us feel good. A recent CBS News story showed the POSITIVE effects of advertising on changing teen behavior. The "Not Even Once" meth ad campaign that started in Montana, while disturbing to watch, led to an unprecedented drop in methamphetamine usage among teenagers in the state. The ads started running in 2005 and since that time teenage meth use in Montana has dropped 63%. The state went from 5th in ranking in Meth abuse to the current ranking of 39th. The ads are now running all over the country with similar results. Yes, advertising upon occasion can be intrusive and silly, but
sometimes, it makes a positive difference. Take a look at the story.
