If you’ve watched TV recently, you’ve probably seen the new Taco Bell commercials touting their new breakfast menu. McDonald’s has always been known as king of the drive-thru breakfast, so in order for Taco Bell to make a statement in the market, they had to go big. And they certainly did with their TV spots featuring Ronald McDonald himself…well, several Ronald McDonalds actually. The commercials feature testimonials from real people named Ronald McDonald, a direct hit at their competitor’s famous icon. Since being released less than a week ago, the YouTube video has garnered almost two-million views. If it’s buzz they wanted to create, they succeeded. And it looks like they’re not done, as today the company released a behind-the-scenes video with the different Ronald McDonalds featured in the spot. Can you imagine what it’s like to have that name? They’ll tell you. One thing’s for sure, the breakfast war has just begun. Who will come out on top? That remains to be seen.
